All the reviews were 5 stars...so I bought it. It was pretty much what they said it would be. The story is filled with fun characters, an exciting plot and a wonderfully off-kilter concept of the world as seen through the eyes of a cat. The author definitely shows a love for animals and Disney but he is not above bending Disney history for his story. He does it respectfully however, and with an eye for a better plotline. It is easy for kids to read, yet adults will enjoy the humor as well.I have been leery of books published by Theme-park Press because of bad editing and some major grammatical mistakes. Those flaws seem to be missing from this book however. It is not Shakespeare, but it is an enjoyable, fun distracting read that you can share with your family. And In my opinion, a book that all ages can read is a good choice to purchase.
Note: Edited the review to 5 stars. It deserves it. If I had to find a flaw in the book, it would be that the sequel is not ready yet. Still waiting impatiently...

The cats of the castle is a fun and action packed ride through the happiest place on earth. The story blends the right amount of fantasy while still feeling without being bogged down by extraneous details. Bart Scott's use of familiar Disneyland locations ground the world of Oliver and the other Order cats into a real setting. The details of these locations are great ballance that should make casual readers and Disney-fanatics happy. Highly recommended.
What a fun read. Mr. Bart Scott has compiled not just an adventure tale of enchanted critters doing battle for the most classic castle of them all, he's also created a time-capsule tale of Disneyland itself. The descriptions are lovingly rendered and the details are specific. I suspect fans of future park iterations will continue to read this story for glimpses of how the park once was. So, if there are more daring exploits to tell, I'll be here following along. I feel like more are deserved. I'm not sure of age appropriateness, there's nothing disturbing or untoward (I mean, it's magical cats in Disneyland) but the pace is often fast and the workings of the park's engineering might go over young heads. Early readers might benefit from repeated readings as they age up. It's fantasy. It's fun. It's feline. Five stars.
This is a fun and thrilling story that pulls you into a magical world. I truly could not put this book down and cannot wait to see what's next for Oliver and the gang! I highly recommend this for not only lovers of Disney, but to all who love adventure!

What a brilliant concept to take the often talked about cats that roam Disneyland and make them magic. Scott has delivered on telling an action adventure story that maybe aimed at kids, but certainly not just for kids. You know you've got that "Disney" fan friend or family member - it's the perfect stocking stuffer.
Don't make the mistake of just handing this over to your kids and letting them enjoy it. If you're an adult Disney fan, you'll want to hop on and enjoy the ride yourself. In addition to the clever story, there are lots of Disney details sprinkled through the story that true fans will appreciate. My kids can't wait for the next installment. And you know what? Neither can I.
I bought this book for my niece for Christmas, but decided to read it first to make sure that it would be easy enough for her to read (she's 9). Well, I can say that not only will it be easy enough for her to read, but I think she will love it. It's such a great fictional story about the real cats of Disneyland - it's very creative, adventurous, and feels just as magical as you could imagine and it's great for both kids and adults to read! I loved it so much that I will be buying myself a copy as well as buying copies as gifts for my nephew and my friends' kids! I'm very much looking forward to Book #2!!
